How to Get More Retweets

1. Create and Share Value
One sure-fire way to never get more retweets is to tweet out irrelevant information. If you only ever share facts about rocks, people likely won’t retweet you too often. Unless of course you’re a geologist and your followers are specifically interested in that type of information.
Twitter is like any other platform—to grow your following and engagement, you need to create and share valuable content. That doesn’t mean you only ever sell or that you can’t throw in the occasional personal tweet. Just make sure you have a balance in what type of content you’re sharing and that you know your followers will find it relevant.
2. Use an Image
A previous study done by Buffer shows that including an image with your tweet increases retweets by 150% compared to tweets without. Consumers are far more visual today than ever before. People want to see pictures, infographics, or videos. It makes sense then that using imagery in your tweets will increase engagement.
3. Ask for It!
Finally, if you really want more retweets, just ask for them! Salesforce found that simply asking your followers to retweet your content increased retweet rates by 12x. As with any other content, you want to have clear calls to action. If the desired action you would like people to take is to have them retweet your content, then there is no clearer way to get your point across than to simply ask.
